CAT 3516B is a heavy-duty V16, four-stroke turbocharged diesel engine designed for high-power industrial, mining, marine, construction, and power generation applications. Built to deliver exceptional durability, fuel efficiency, and reliable performance under continuous heavy loads, the 3516B is commonly used in generators, large mining equipment, drilling rigs, pumps, and industrial machinery. The engine features a large-displacement design with advanced cooling and air handling systems to support demanding operating conditions while maintaining long service life and low operating costs. It offers power outputs ranging from approximately 2,000–2,200 HP (1,492–1,640 kW) at 1,800 rpm and has a 69-liter displacement.
